Wedding Dress!

Hi all : )


We are having a small party with friends and family (approx. 23 people). It will be in the evening from 5pm-11pm at a downtown condo party room with a terrace, very beautiful spot! I ordered the below dress from BHLDN and I just love it! I am not a very traditional person and did not want to feel overly "bride-ish" in my dress so this I feel suits me perfectly. HOWEVER, I showed a colleague the dress and they kind of made a face and comment like "that isn't a wedding a dress - that could be for a fancy cocktail party". Even though I don't want it to be overly bridal, I still feel special in it and my close friend and mom reassured me it's beautiful (people that actually ARE coming to the wedding).

I guess no matter what it does not matter, if you feel good in it that is what matters but just curious if you saw someone in this would you think it's not special looking enough? Open to all feedback! : )

    This is 2022 and coming out of a pandemic (are we yet) one thing is or sure - Anything goes! It's your day so you do you!

    Thank you all so much for the reassurance. Y'all are right, whether it is a cocktail dress or not, it's just someone's opinion and they do not have to wear it and thankfully (not attending, ha!).

    I think its a beautiful dress that would be perfect for a bridal dress. There are alot of very simple dresses that are bridal and everyone's preference is different.

    Who's to say a wedding dress can't be a cocktail party dress? Not all brides need a big poofy train. Some brides don't even wear white for their wedding. Your colleague should be more mindful on how rude they can come off with such comments.

    I love it, it is perfect there are no rules on what type of dress you should be wearing, it's your wedding. To be honest I've found dresses on line and at bridal stores. We are going into 2023 wear what you want, what makes you happy, what makes you feel beautiful and sexy on your day.
