Wedding dj

Hi everyone! I hope you are all keeping well during these times!

I have a question for those brides who are getting married this year and are using their DJ for the ceremony.

As my fiancé and I have, I am sure most of you have already made some payments to your DJs. Our DJ is now charging us a higher price for an elopement package, than what our original ceremony package was.
I am just wondering if any of you have gone through that with your DJ?

That seems like alot for a DJ in my opinion. My fiance and I are paying $900 and he's doing ceremony and reception. I personally agree with Sarah with cutting your losses and finding someone else at a better price

That’s really pricey for a DJ in my opinion. We are paying under $700 for an all day DJ including reception.Unless you are in love with their style I would cut my losses and find someone else.

The contract states if you want to change/alter the information, a fee would apply even for elopement? The amount should be less for the time charged of the elopement over the whole event.

Ahh. They're within their right to do that, since you technically cancelled the contract and rebooking based on new terms. I know it's probably not what you want to hear as it sucks for your budget. The ceremony add on was likely discounted due to the fact that you're using them for a full day reception originally but now that you're only using them for such a short period, I can see why they would charge that. It's actually pretty standard across most DJ companies.

Hi Hank, we did not change venues but we did eliminate the reception portion.

    Hi Amanda,

The original price for the full day DJ service was $2,800.00. The elopement package for 3 hours is &2,000.00

Have you already signed a contract with him before he charged you a higher price? If you signed a contract with him saying "this price" he shouldn't be charging you something else that is much higher

Did you change venues? And I assume you're eliminating the reception portion of their work?
