Wedding Decor Nightmare

Momofbride(Kim), on August 25, 2018 at 19:22 Posted in Before the wedding 0 5

I swear that the decor for my daughter's wedding is the WORST part of planning I have come across. Everyone seems to want chair sashes, and organza, crystal dangling ceilings and the "pretty things" but when I contact anyone about black denim tablecloths and ultra suede runners, they are like "what?!!" Is anyone else out there having a hard time finding different decor that isn't rustic/burlap/mason jars? Her venue is the Ponoka Stampede Grounds and we are looking for things outside the box. Suggestions? Also, we are trying to find someone to hang a lighted ceiling and it is proving IMPOSSIBLE!!

What you want sounds really neat but different. Because it’s different you aren’t likely to find those things in regular places. There just isn’t the demand for it.

You could try looking online but I think you may have to settle for something else or make it yourself.

I am a seamstress, and I just don't want to make the items myself. I am already committed to making too much. I don't want the heavy denim, the lightweight denim is no heavier than a good linen. Guess I am just going to have to keep looking or I might end up making them myself anyway.

Decorators work by knowing what the setting is and what your ourlook wants are. The materials they know and can supply will be showed and pricing. Some of what your looking for materials wise will not be available or in their stock.

Have you tried looking in fabric stores...talk to a sales associate about the decor and she can point you in the right direction and offer different material options for what you see...might even consider checking the end of rolls discount section...maybe .ask around your friends...mayb someone can sew up your decorations, there's also seamstresses who can be hired for trickier items. Happy hunting.

I think it's just cause those fabrics aren't too easy to work with or nobody requests them, if she is set on them, you might want to consider having them made.

Black denim doesn't sound very drapey fabric for a tablecloth, you might want to ask someone before commiting.
