Wedding Date September 25th in Montreal

Mandy, on August 7, 2021 at 11:23 Posted in Quebec 0 10
Hello! I am scheduled to get married on September 25th. We are hoping to be able to have more than 50 people indoors by then. Does anyone heard if the restrictions are going to change anytime soon. I don’t want to postpone again … it would be the 5th time we reschedule.

So sorry to hear this, it’s really upsetting to see all the restrictions imposed on weddings. Did you end up rescheduling?

I'm an October 22 bride from Montreal. We manage to change our reception to the hotel restaurant to keep our guest list over 50. Our cocktail will be in the courtyard with patio heather. Hope this will help !

That's so awful. Although I'm sure your contract listed a certain number of people didn't it ? Look into the quebec consumer protection act, they technically cannot hold your money.
I really hope the vaccine passport does something as well 😔 I feel so powerless in this I hope that people are pestering the government about this inconsistency because I have no idea how lol

It’s killing me! I see picnik electric and it kills me. The venue won’t let me cancel, they say they can still have the wedding. It’s been hard. I have already cancelled 3 times. So hard, I hope the vaccine passport helps, but not sure anything is going to change

Not to mention you’re allowed 250 ppl for the ceremony on a place of worship 🙄

It's actually still 25 inside and 50 outdoors. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm hearing of some venues that are operating with their restaurant licenses with 50% capacity of their space. So many ppl are canceling their contracts and going with other venues... I'm really at a loss on what to do. I'd like to wait to see what the government has to say but nothing has made sense so far. Picnik is going on but weddings of more than 25 are not safe?? So ridiculous

    Ours is sept 18
Apparently Legault will speak to vaccine passports being required or not at weddings as well as the reception limit the first of the month. They just cancelled two test concerts though in qc city so as much as I’m trying to stay hopefully I feel like the 50 max will stay the same or lessen …

Hi Mandy, besides the vaccine passports I have not heard any major change to restrictions.

    Best of luck!
