My MIL actually took charge with our cake, and it ended up being coconut-pineapple flavoured. While that wouldn't have been my first choice, it was really good!

We had a three tier cake. The bottom, biggest layer was red velvet and the two smaller ones were dulce de leche.. The bottom layer was all that got cut up because of demand so guests only actually ate the red velvet. We had over 2 tiers of leftovers!

We're doing cupcakes for the guests and they'll be generic chocolate, generic vanilla bean, caramel, red velvet, mint/chocolate (my fav), and chocolate/coffee (FH's fav). But for the little cake that we'll cut and have ourselves will be lemon cake with raspberry buttercream, and in the center will be lemon curd. Our wedding is in late spring so we wanted fresh/fruity flavours for the cake😋

Mine was chocolate Nutella filling and vanilla with butter cream filling and blueberry. It was so yummy. I feel that you can’t go wrong with chocolate and vanilla. Also Nutella is something I would die for.

I'm thinking a vanilla cake, lemon filling with whip cream. Possibly doing half the slab the vanilla-lemon and the other half maybe some kind of chocolate.

Lemme guess, is chocolate the bigger tier?

This is the only thing my partner actually wants to help me with! He loves sweets and teased me about needing a refined palette ( his of course) to ensure the right flavours were picked. We have decided not try more than 6 flavours because then it probably would be too hard for us to choose from!

Im just currently in the process of choosing a cake baker and I have some tastings coming up as I would like to taste their cakes before booking. I'm planning on doing a three tier cake, and will do each tier a different flavour, for no additional cost. We plan to taste 4-6 samples depending on the Baker and the cost associated. We are tasting non traditional flavours that we have never had but think should be popular. We're also narrowing it down by not tasting any of the bakers premium or custom flavours as these are additional costs. I'm hoping we're able to decide on 3 flavours out of 4-6 samples.

Since my fiance and I don't live in the province we're getting married in and can't have a tasting, we've decided to go with just the basic chocolate and vanilla flavor. One tier will be chocolate and the other tier will be vanilla.

We did our cutting cake in cookies and cream with buttercream and oh my gawd it was delicious. I happily ate leftover wedding cake for days.


For guests we did vanilla, cookies and cream, and chocolate all with vanilla buttercream.
