Was your proposal in public or private? 💍

Private. He flew me out from Ontario to meet him in Calgary for a whirlwind weekend trip after he'd been working out there for a few weeks. We drove out to Lake Louise before sunrise and hiked a few hours up to a point that overlooks the lake (if it hadn't been so foggy) and he asked!

Private! We had a weekend in niagara booked and as soon as we got to our suite overlooking the US and Canadian falls, we were looking out at them and he asked!

After working on cruises for 2 years. and cruising a lot. I still love the towel origami. it still cracks me up every time.

Private! He popped the question as we sat around a fire after a 9 hour hike in the rain to a hut on the sunshine coast trail💜

He proposed in the hotel room on a weekend get away for our 5 year anniversary! He got me a locket to keep a small note in it that said marry me that I now wear everyday! Couldn't of said yes quicker and I may have cried a lot

Long story short, he proposed to me on the patio of our room looking onto the ocean at 3am in Mexico. We may have had too many drinks that day and slept away the evening. He recently told me that he intended to propose to me on the beach instead lol.

That's awesome! It was our first cruise ever so we didn't have any loyalty/membership at the time - now we do since we loved it!!

Our housekeeper would do towel origami, it was so cute to go back to the room to get ready for dinner and see a different animal each day! On the last day, I left a pair of sunglasses in the room and they were featured on the towel elephant!

We had the booze package too (aka...we may have been almost drunk when he proposed! hahah). we already had a bottle of champagne in our room (loyalty/membership). we got another one. and then our room cleaner/housekeeping department gave us a spa gift card. was sooooo kind. clearly he got an extra tip! hahaha

Private. He knew I was against a public proposal so popped the question on our last night on vacation in Tulum. I had been keeping my watch in the room's safe all week, but that night had forgotten to put it on so he suggested I go grab it. Opened up the safe and there was a ring! He was filming so never actually got down on one knee but it was still perfect, and we have a video which is amazing!

Yeah! We got to celebrate all vacation long with our cruise alcohol package lol! They even got a bottle of champagne for us, we told our waiter the first night and he got us the bottle that second night - on the house (or boat in this case lol)!

LOVE IT! such a fun way to start vacation!! ours happened early in the cruise (1st sea day...2nd day on board). so then after it happened. we met up with the group there for the wedding and boom 100 friends and friends of bride and groom knew before any of our family! hahha

long before ever being with FH. I knew I always wanted photos of my proposal. but figured with FH that wouldn't happen because he can't keep a surprise. but so glad it happen!

We had two, I proposed first and she proposed second.

The first was a public place with a private moment. We were at Gulfoss in Iceland which is a huge tourist destination. Because I didn't want to make a scene, I found this secluded section of rock close to the flow to quietly propose unseen. I think some people figured it out but it wasn't a huge display.

When my fiancee proposed, it was really private and nice overlooking Niagara-on-the-lake at night.

Got engaged 2 weeks ago. Private- he proposed while we were videochatting with my parents. I did not believe he was proposing - I was screaming and laughing when he asked me to marry him. It was the sweetest ever and I am extremelyhappy that he asked for my parents' blessing to marry me.

Public - we were at Niagara Falls and he got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. Of course I said yes and now it is 233 days from our big day!!!

A mix of both. We were at Butchart Gardens in Victoria for the 12 Days of Christmas light display. We walked over to the Rose Garden, and he proposed. No one was there at the time, but as we were hugging/kissing, some passer-by's told us to get a room

Everyone we were travelling with knew that he was gonna propose (except me!) but had no idea when and were trying to guess amongst themselves. I thought he would propose toward the end of our vacation but it was the first day - he wanted to get it out of the way and it still surprised me!

VERY public! and VERY unplanned

we were on a destination wedding cruise for our very good friends. it was 2nd day onboard. he had won a bunch of money at the casino. the groom goes up to him says "cash out...lets go get jenn a ring". and he says ok. they picked out a ring from the diamond shop on board the ship. Mack then found the bride to ask her permission to propose (since it was her wedding cruise). on his way to meet us at dinner (my fav thing is dinner in the dining room on cruises). he told TONS of the people we were cruising with he was about to propose. he shows up late to dinner, which made me mad. we eat dinner with 2 different friends we were with. after dinner, the photographer was coming by and taking photos. she had the guys stand behind us girls. our buddy sat down. but mack didn't. and I didn't look back at him. until about a minute later when I heard someone say...uuummm. turn around and he has been on 1 knee since the photo ended. I was IN SHOCK!!!!! as the photo tells. after we kissed. the WHOLE dining room cheered. along with the wait staff.

Private We had gone out for our date night and I was sort of disappointed that he just wanted to head back to his house after and not go for a walk by the river or go get ice cream or something, he said he wasn't feeling the best and was tired from a long day so he suggested we watch a movie at his house, so we went there and his room is in the basement so I was walking down the stairs and he had taken all of the light bulbs out so it was dark and as I came around the corner at the bottom of the stairs his room was lit up by candles and he had spelled out "love you" with them and had my favourite chocolates and flowers! I was so surprised! he also had his roommate hiding in the corner and he took pictures of everything. (they didn't turn out very good unfortunately) but it was so sweet

Private, he proposed in our living room with just our dogs around.

Ours was a bit of both - he proposed in a public, at the Toronto Music Gardens, but when he actually got down on one knee there was no one else around. It was really great - we are both very private people,, so it worked out perfectly.

This is the gazebo, inspired by the Menuett musical form (all of the garden is inspired by the music of Bach). We don't have any pictures of course, because we were alone, but it was a beautiful sunny day just like this one.

It was technically in public - on a beach in california - but it was just the two of us. it had gotten dark so we had the whole beach to ourselves

It was at a restaurant! So public!! But there were only a few other tables around and our waitress who helped him set everything up!

Our’s was private at our apartment. He said he was too nervous to do it in public. The proposal involved him singing to me so I think that was better done at home then in the restaurant where we had our date.

Private. He proposed around 11pm on the front steps of my house during the first snowfall on December 4th 2016.

My fiancé meant for mine to be public, but I was sick with the flu and he didn't want to wait, so he did it at home.
