Walking down beside a wheelchair

Lyz, on May 13, 2017 at 11:35 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 4

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has had to deal with walking down the aisle with your father (or whoever walked you) while they are in a wheelchair?

I won't have to worry about pushing him because my uncle is going to walk down with us to help push him down the aisle for me so I can walk right beside him, but the bottom of my dress is a little poofy and i'm a little concerned that it's going to get tangled in his wheels (not so much get rolled on because it won't be dragging on the ground). I want to be able to walk right beside him and not have to look super awkward being a ways away from him just so it doesn't snag my dress.

Any suggestions?

You might be able to have a temporary "guard" on the wheel, some thing that would go out from the arm and down to the floor that would enclose and protect the wheel and your dress on that side. Just the first thing that popped into my head.
