Vows

We wrote our own vows and read it at the ceremony. We did not do first look, only walked down the aisle to my hubby!

A little of both! We will do the traditional wedding vows in the church, then later do our own personal vows with only us, our photographer and videographer under a very special 150 year old Oak tree!

We are doing a little of both. The chapel we are going to has 3 ceremonies they offer going from uber religious to not at all. We went through picked the one we liked best, edited things in or out to fit us and added personal touches/preferred quotes.

We are going about this differently. We really wanted my FH close friend to marry us but it's not legal in BC. So we chose to do our legal, 10 min ceremony a few hours before the actual ceremony with only our MOH & BM & parents present which will be the legal vows. Then we will have our actual ceremony with our friend as the officiant and do our own vows in a more relaxed but still serious tone. We are doing a first look before the legal ceremony so that's our opportunity to say private vows if we want to. So many things to consider!!

We wrote our own vows but the officiant had us repeat after him the important legal stuff like "I, take you, as my lawfully wedded wife in sick and in health etc."

Traditional vows seem to be the most popular

We're just doing traditional vows the officiant uses in a script!

I wrote my own vows, I told my FH he can do whatever as long as he stands with what he says at the altar.

Best of luck Rosetta, we will need some for ours too! I have been looking online, there are countless suggestions for both traditional vows and ones you can write yourself.

We did traditional vows during the ceremony but did personal vows/letters to each other during our first look before the ceremony

Absolutely! Our pastor gave us this booklet and each part of the ceremony had at least 6 different options in each section including the vows part
