Vows?

Sara, on April 5, 2017 at 13:43 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 7

Hi! Me and my FH have been kind of at odds over what to do for our vows. Neither of us have been to very many weddings so we are a little confused with how the vows go. Do you do "till death do us part" and write your own vows? Or is it an either or kind of thing? I would love to write our own vows but what do we take out in the ceremony to insert our written vows? Help!

We chose from our officiant folder of programs.

We are going through kettle creek weddings for our oficiant and they have lots of different options for the ceremony, we get to pick and choose what readings and version of vows to use Smiley smile our oficiant was great and sat down with us before we booked and discussed our options

We will be writing our vows but since we are both extremely shy, we will be reading them to each other privately before or after the ceremony we haven't decided yet. Our officiant will write her own vows for us to say in front of everyone

We will have someone speak about love and our relationship, then we will say our vows, then we sign the paperwork and then the officiant will make the legally binding pronouncement that we are married. We decided to do our own vows to personalize it a little but following the traditional ones is just fine as well.

No vows are necessary in a Quebec ceremony but we'll do a generic one

We decided to use the standard vows neither of us enjoy writting... When I was doing research on the subject I found the following website helpful

The only thing you must have is the expression of intent any other wording is up to you.
