Vow stress

Kelly, on July 23, 2019 at 09:36 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 9

I had worked on my vows for a while, and finished them about a month ago. I just went and read them again and I hate them. I find them bland and that they don't capture our relationship... Does anyone have any vow tips? I'm 4 days out and in a bit of a panic.

Thanks Kelsie! I was able to get them done and they're sort of laid out like a little story and it really suits us as a couple!

I will be honest, I have copied a few things, but then added my own spin on them. No one else will know, and it is still something you believe in, and want to say to your FH!

Hugs go out to you for not loving your vows. Its hard to write what you feel yet it doesn't reflect what is true in your heart.

Making some points to what you have done together or look forward to may help.

    Future goals

    Happiness within time spent

Funny moments that you like sharing

Stories that may bring a tearful moment

Feelings you want to share with your husband to be

Taking these moments can help to put into words of how you would like to see your new chapter starting as a new couple.

Pinterest has given me some good ideas! I’m just worried I’ll end up copying them a little too much and they won’t be original enough

Hey Kelly! Sorry to hear you are having some stress working on your vows!

I agree with the ladies, talk about how you met, reasons you make each other happy and even maybe slip in a funny but cute anecdote between the two of you! At the end of the day, your vows represent how you feel for your FH and it's really about you two!

I have just started working on mine, and Pinterest has helped a lot. Look up some personal vows on there as they will help with the layout and flow, and then you can change them to fit you and your FH

Like Tori said, go into how you met, and how he makes you happy, and the promises you want to make to him!

I know that for me and my FH we aren't doing personal vows - but if we were I would probably start off with how we met and/or how I knew he was the one. Then go into reasons he makes me happy and how I know we will last and be there for each other - insert something you love him in spite of - and then promise to love him.

Idk, for me I could cry at anything on my wedding - all I have to do is think about how we are both so lucky to have found each other and even cooler that we didn't find each other on a dating app (cool if you did, but I just mean those are what stand out about how we met).
