Vow Books

Alyssa, on June 15, 2020 at 22:20 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 6

Hey Everyone

I was looking at vow books but our officiant recommended against them. Her logic - you are up there, public speaking, likely holding a mic, that flipping the little vow book can be tricky - especially if outside, like we are. She won't hold the mic, as she steps aside so photos are of us. I love the little vow books but I am wondering, if anyone has any cute alternatives to the vow books - our officiant recommended stiff card paper, so it can be held with one hand.

Thoughts? Feedback?

What about a microphone stand? Just put it at a lower height, and speak up! (We didn't do our own vows other than the "repeat after me" stuff, but most of our pictures and our video were basically from our waist up anyway.

There's a website called Zazzle.ca, where you can get pretty much anything custom printed and there are thousands of colour and design options. What's great about it is everything is completely customizable, so if you found, say for example, an invite template that matched your colour and theme, you can reset the template and instead use it to write out your vows! I used the site for my save the dates and they turned out so beautifully that I'm going to be using it for my invites as well as my vow card. It's high-quality cardstock paper and ink, the design is also on the back, and you can choose everything from the paper finish to the paper type to the shape of the card, and you'll end up with a final result that suits you perfectly!

I’ve seen ideas on Pinterest of vows being printed on clear vinyl like these: https://images.app.goo.gl/7nasahzy3jk6magf9

I've seen some cute versions where you use the same material and design as your invitations and print it all on one sheet.

I like the idea of the booklets, but a single page is easier to frame if you want to display and keep them safe.
