Videography! Opinions

Becky, on April 17, 2018 at 10:04 Posted in Before the wedding 0 6

I recently found a photographer that I am absolutely in love with (reasonable pricing, everything I want is included, his style) and saw he does videography. I never considered it before until I seen his video's and his style of it. We are meeting Friday to go over more packages and customize it to fit my needs.

My question is what do you think are important parts to capture that you can't with videos? I don't know what I want! Some where first look, us getting ready, my dad seeing me and mom, his grandma signing, diff parts of the landscape, walking down isle, peoples faces during speaches, first dance, just moments where moving and blimps of it.

I think the moments you highlighted are all good.

I'm not hiring a videographer, but the parts that are important to me are the Ceremony and then the speeches. That's really the only parts I'd like to tape.

We're going to just try to use GoPros and hope for the best.

I think the most important parts to capture on video are the procession, the vows, and the speeches, pictures of those moments are of course lovely but getting to hear and see them is extra impactful.

I hope your meeting goes well!

If you have the budget for it, you should definitely consider it. The only reason I'm not doing it is because we simply don't have the budget to include a videographer. I think if the quality of his videos/editing are good, it's definitely worth it.

Video for sure adds to capturing those true moments and emotions felt throughout the day!

I'd recommend watching some wedding short vids on youtube to get a glimpse of what people have done (warning, some have brought me to tears hahah!)

I absolutely love the idea of a long video for my husband and I to watch down the road and a shorter film of moments during the day to share online with my family and friends!

I think video adds to the day, because it is of course moving pictures. I really wanted the ceremony captured, because our vows and speeches at the reception are things that you can't capture through photos, so that was important to me to get on video. Otherwise, I think the rest can be done through photography. It really depends on what you would want to re-watch in the future.
