We had around 55 - 60 guests. We were lucky that it was in a small mountain town so we could buy what was forgotten. And more lucky that we didn't forget anything critical. I am glad that you have creative helpers 😀

Exactly !! They are extremely creative so I'm lucky! A list is a must ! Ours is 2 hours away basically in the middle of nowhere so not a close trip to the local store. Did you have a small wedding?

Those are two good people to have involved. Exactly, let go and trust and sometimes someone's idea is different then what yours would have been and it ends up just as nice as yours or better! I don't like to ask for help. That was my problem. Make lists of things to bring with you, from lipstick to shoes and the marriage license. Our venue was four hours away. My husband forgot his shaving kit and we forgot a chalk pen. Otherwise we packed everything we wanted and needed.

I'm such a control freak so I just have to let go. Great idea with the bins and the items inside I'm doing alot of planning with my mother in law and her sister so I'm sure between the both they will be a huge help . These are little things some people don't worry about but when your decorating yourself you need to let go and trust ppl.

You are welcome Amanda. You have the ultimate excuse for not helping out. Be sure that whomever you pick at least one or two people are take charge type of people or not much will get done. Not everybody can be the supervisor type of people 🤣 Good luck with everything. I was pretty open and laid back to how things should look. I only cared about the table tops and a few other items. The rest I just wanted in the venue some how. Our decorated venue was perfect and those that helped with decorating where very honored to have helped.

That actually was my biggest worry. We got access to the venue 30 minutes prior to us getting married, so we had to ask friends and family to decorate for us after the ceremony. I made labels for our bins and organized things that went together inside of the individual bins and explained my basic vision and just trusted that it would turn out. And really it was one of the highlights of our day, walking into the reception area and seeing everything set up. I don't like asking for help, but for this I had to. It turned out beautifully.

We had a local caterer that were specific to the venue that we selected. Flowers were picked up on the Friday morning in the city we live in and packed in coolers and brought with us for our wedding Saturday. Our cake was made by a family member and she transported it for us. Everything worked perfectly luckily for us.

Does your venue have in-house catering? If not, do they have a preferred list caterers and other suppliers? The only thing with getting a caterer that's not in the region of the venue is you might get hit with surcharges for travelling.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone near the area so it's going to be a little hard , I'm looking at people who has used the same venue and seeing who they've used or just doing my own research of the area

Do you have anyone local to where your venue is? I had to do some planning from out of province and having someone close by for the couple in person things we couldn’t do over email/phone was really helpful!
