Vendors Table at Reception

Amanda, on March 10, 2022 at 10:11 Posted in Wedding reception 1 9
Hey everyone so I’m having trouble with the seating chart we have 3 vendors (3 people) coming and I don’t know if I should get a whole table (that seats 10) for 3 people. Thoughts about putting them at your co workers table..? Thank you

    Hi Amanda,

When I arranged my vendors - I have 3 as well - I did make a separate small table for just them so they're not amongst our guests. I used to work in the banquet department at a golf course, so I've worked my fair share of weddings and this is how it's always been set up. Typically, the DJ will eat at their station and the photographers are given a small table off to the side to sit and eat. My best advice is to speak with whomever is coordinating your wedding, whether it be the venue directly or hired coordinator, to see what they suggest Smiley smile

We just had smaller tables! The DJ and videographer sat with their equipment and ate there so wasn't an issue. Our photographers had a small table together and they loved it but they barely sat anyway. The meal wasn't an issue as they got the same meal. We set the table the same way as everyone else..

    Hi Amanda,

I think fitting them in empty spaces is a great idea as long as they are near their station ie: DJ being seated across the room from his set up.

I only have 1 vendor that needs a seat and I'll be putting her at whatever table has an extra seat

Depending on the vendor, they likely wont be sitting there long anyway (think photographer - they will be moving around alot but need space to sit when they need to)

For me, I am just sitting them where I have empty spaces, as I only need to seat 2 (my photographers), and I dont really have the space for an extra table so they will be filling some empty spaces in my tables.

I think that putting them with your coworkers will work perfectly fine. My fiance and I have to sit our two photographers for dinner so they will be sitting with one of our friend tables

You can always ask the venue for a smaller vendors table. Most places have smaller rounds or even a square table like ones you see at a restaurant.

Most vendors won't want to be seated with guests. Either they won't want to be sucked into having small talk or they're busy running around working. And if you're not giving vendors the full meal package as your other guests, it can be awkward if they're sitting there with them.
