Vendor Thank you notes/review

Lia, on December 17, 2019 at 23:44 Posted in Just married 0 10
Situation: So all of my wedding vendors went above and beyond except we had a few hiccups with one of them which put a pretty significant damper on our big day. Things still worked out in the end but not after problems were resolved...

My questions are: should I still send them a thank you note?
And should I write an honest (not mean but from the heart) review? Or is it a “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” kind of thing?
Any advice helps!! ❤️❤️

I think your honest reviews can be helpful for their business, so you should go for it. Many vendors strive to get positive reviews.

Thanks everyone for the advice!! I wrote a thank you note and a nice but honest review. Hopefully other people don’t have the same issues we did! ☺️

I would write honest reviews. you want other couples to know what stress and other things they have to deal with with that vendor. and yeah i would still say thank you!!

I would still send a thank-you note - as things did end up working out in the end!

I would write an honest review: a business that discourages honest/negative reviews shouldn't be trusted IMO. The point of reviews is to help others thinking about using their business, and it also gives them a summary of what you thought of working with them and any improvements they could make.

A Thank You card is a nice gesture to give the vendors for their services. I also ran into a situation where the dvd given was put nicely in the beginning until watched with husband and friends later to see that the music was played over the background music and no mic connected to the video to hear the vows. The wind sound is what you hear more of in the raw footage. They didn't do anything to resolve the issue after notifying them and would have love to leave a feedback on their website for others to know. They didn't put one on as they were smart to have clients drop them for the services they were offering. Honesty is the best policy.

I agree with the group! Send a thank you and leave an honest review. Others deserve to have a warning so they don't go through what you did.

Was the reason for the hiccup just a fluke or was it the vendor's negligence? I'd send a card if it was the first, but I wouldn't bother if they were just incompetent and didn't do their job. Either way, definitely leave a review.

I would still send a thank you card IF they were the reason why things still worked out. If you had to get a different vendor or person to fix their hiccups then I wouldn't send one because... like... no.

As for reviews - they are very helpful and informative so I would make one no matter what. A review is different than a recommendation letter for the vendors so it's not like you are suppose to praise them. Just be honest without being cruel Smiley tongue

I full heartedly agree with Shannon. Send them the thank you note anyway, and leave an honest review. I always read the Google reviews of a vendor before going to their actual website, and as a bride still looking for vendors I want to know all the facts going in and where a certain vendor might fall short. It doesn't mean I'll cross them off my list automatically but I also don't like going in blind.

    Hello Lia,

I would still send a thank you note and be the gracious women you are. As for the review, I would leave an honest review maybe adding some good points with the bad points. Reviews are there to inform people of there service.
