Unity Tequila Shot Ceremony

Courtney, on July 6, 2020 at 12:31 Posted in Wedding ceremony 3 5

I am really wanting to do a unity tequila shot ceremony at my wedding, and had found a great little script on a blog online but the website is no longer up and running and I didn't think to save a copy of it beforehand!! I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for a script for this type of ceremony or knows where I could find one?

Every couple has their thing and tequila is what you both enjoy, go for it. We all love to see something unique and original which makes your vow seal special.

Okay - so I have answered my own question but thought that I would leave the script here for anyone else who is interested in using this for their own ceremony! I managed to track down the blogger who made the original post and she shared it with me (thank goodness for Facebook!)

Here it is (she said that she created it by combining a few different ceremony scripts that she had, which is why there are multiple different names in this but you just need to edit them out and fill them in with your own!):

Officiant: Now that Shelly and Chris have made their life long promises to each other and have exchanged rings, they’ve chosen to symbolize the joining of their two lives by participating in a very special ceremony ritual. BRING OUT THE TEQUILA! (guest will probably cheer) You may not realize it, but a good tequila is like a good marriage in many ways. Stay with me here. It warms you from the inside, gives you strength and confidence, and helps you face difficult situations with a little bit of ease. When the rest of the world seems to turn their backs on you, tequila is there. Sometimes tequila gives you a little bit of a headache, but you get over it. Tequila is always forgiven. Shelly and Chris, as you each pour a shot for the ritual, you are symbolically adding your own unique strengths that you bring to this marriage. Dave you bring your calming presence, a sense of humor and a strong word ethic. Carrie you will add your kindness, humor, intelligence, creativity and determination. So now, I will need all of your assistance as we cheer Lisa and Dave on. Dave, please pour the shots. When I say go, we will all yell, 1, 2, 3 SALUD! and Lisa and Dave will drink to their wedding day and to lifelong partnership. Ready….”

Haha not quite!! Yes I totally agree - sand and candles are really not our thing and a tequila shot seemed much more fun. I remembered finding a ceremony script for it that talked about how tequila was like a marriage or something along those lines but its since been taken down and I am not creative enough to come up with something on my own. So here's to hoping that someone here has an idea for me!

I'm assuming one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor isn't what you're looking for? (Kidding!)

This sounds like a really cool idea! I much prefer this to sand and candles.
