Unity Ceremony

Patricia, on June 4, 2020 at 15:29 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 20
I am thinking of doing a unity ceremony. I don’t want to do candles, maybe sand? Does anyone have any unique ideas? Or even share what you plan to do!!

I've seen it done with beer, combining a light vs stout. It was really cool actually!

I plan on doing a unity canvas painting that we can then hang in our home after the wedding. I really like the one with the monograms Smiley smile

Glass beads for unity sounds unique and different. Using the beads for the patterned glass of your choice is great knowing you will be using it as décor in your home.

Lots of things you can do based on your favourite hobby and then take home if the option is there to plant or use.

We're looking at doing a unity glass ceremony, it's like a sand ceremony except you use glass beads instead of sand. Then a local glass blowing company will shape the glass beads into whatever we want. I like the idea of turning it into something we can use like a vase or glasses but we haven't decided yet.

We're doing unity sand! I found a glass bottle at Dollarama with a cork stopper and two little vases that go nicely with it. We'll alternate pouring two different colours into the bottle - I chose shimmery white and a natural looking sand. Smiley smile

I'm entertaining the idea of making a two-ingredient cocktail, like a mimosa or a shandy, at the ceremony. One of us pours in one thing, the other pours the second thing, picks up the glass, twist lock arms and drink.

FH and I will be doing a unity tree planting. Basically we'll have a sapling and a large enough bucket to plant it in, then we'll move it to our home and plant it properly in the ground.

My Father did Sand at his wedding. He did a different colour for each child and we all poured it in together. I think it was a beautiful idea, they still have it on display at the house. Maybe have the Jar engraved with something nice as well ?
They did just a plane old vase looking thing lol

We are doing a Baumstamm sägen which is a German tradition of sawing a tree log as your first act as man and wife. Not quote the same style as unity ceremony but in the same line and honours our German heritage!
