Type of Playlist

Ericah, on March 20, 2019 at 15:30 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13

What type of playlist are you having? I am looking to have multiple genres so that everyone enjoys the music. What are you doing, what you and friends like or something for all?

Our music is mostly 80s and 90s pop with a few songs in different genres.

On our RSVP cards we will have a saying " I promise to dance if you play this song... " song requests so we will base it off that!

Well have a mix of everything but primarily sticking with 70s-90s rock as that's what we mostly listen to and our parents/grandparents should also enjoy that

For the Dinner/Reception we will probably play some 90s/00s pop and older rock music

Ours will be a mix of Arabic and English, with the English being a mix of classics from the 80s and 90s at the beginning, moving to contemporary stuff, and then ending with the stuff that my and my FH like to listen to (rock for me, reggaeton and hiphop for him)

For sure! That way older guests hear the tunes they want to and can boogey down to their favourite tunes! I can see anyone my age hitting the bar more during this time and starting to dance when the 90s come on.

Our DJ told us what they usually do for weddings: some classic rock and 80s to 90s at the beginning for the older crowd, then moves to the 2000s and more recent stuff. We aren't having a lot of country since my FH doesn't like it, but I know his sister and my mom will request country songs lol. We're also going to have some soca/latin music towards the end for a high energy/party vibe.

Basically, having a bit of everything to entertain our guests.

Take a look at who is coming to your wedding she wise, and try to have a little bit of everything.
Our ceremony is mostly country music. But the reception is going to be a mix of everything. My FH is also Italian so there will be some songs in there for that side of the family

For our playlist we are trying to keep it limited as to what we would dance to and basically ruling out country expect for those few select must-haves.

So basically: 90's, early 2000's, songs that came out when my FH and his friends turned 18 (2008), and then of course some polka's for my Ukrainian family and me!
