Transportation

Hello everyone, I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with.. I'll take any advice. We are planning our wedding for this summer and we were hoping to rent a bus to take our guests (about 50 of them) to and from the venue (30 min out of town) however... Because of covid the bus rental company has temporarily closed down with no news on re-opening, I live in a small town and there is only one bus rental company available. Are there any other alternatives for transportation other than renting a bus? I don't want people drinking and driving... Thanks so much! Smiley smile

Can't speak to NB but in Toronto, a school bus is booked around $150-$250/hr with a four hour minimum.

I got a quote from a cab company that said it'd be $90 per round trip for 6 passengers. I was expecting that about 50 guests would need a drive. That means 8 cabs, $90 x 8 is $720..i wonder how that compares to bus rental prices. Anyone know?

My office used a limo company to bus staff from Fredericton and from Moncton to Saint John for a staff party in 2019. I can't remember the companies we booked, but I might be able to find out!

It's hard with so many companies closed down, whether for the off season or because of covid. Do they have an email listed? Some smaller businesses might be checking email sporadically even though they aren't fully operational.

I would reach out to local community centers that have busses or large vans, they might be able to shuttle guests. I'm not sure if they could accept payment or if they would maybe request a donation instead.
Where in NB are you getting married?
