Toonie Bar

Joanne, on August 31, 2021 at 16:34 Posted in Wedding reception 0 4
Hi everyone, could someone tell me how much they collected from their Toonie Bar, based on 100 guests? The bartenders we hired last weekend, provided the float and ran a cash bar. We informed all our guests that the proceeds from the Toonie Bar was going to the couple, and the bartenders tip jar was separate. At the end of the night, the bartenders said that they would add up all the money and subtract the $200 float, and then e-transfer me the profit. I just received $555, which based on 100 guests, at $50 per guest, makes sense, but I wanted to see what other people have experienced. I’m kicking myself for letting the bartenders take the money at the end of the night. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just take out the $200 float and give us the money. Now I’m wondering if we received all the money that was given.

I agree with Hank, the totally does seem low unless your crowd aren’t drinkers. Have you tried just asking them how much the total was? Maybe they made a mistake sending and don’t fully realize it.

I'm just pointing that out because that means each person had roughly two drinks the whole day. Depending on the crowd, that may or may not make sense. It's very low for a drinking crowd, but I guess it's average for a non-drinking crowd. Not sure if your toonie bar includes non-alcoholic beverages.

$555 from 100 guests is closer to $5 per guest, not $50...
