Jknbhjbb, on December 13, 2016 at 15:38 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 30

I will not be having a rehearsal. I am having an outdoor ceremony so it will be very relaxed. The venue's coordinator will have someone prompting the wedding party to walk so I won't need to think about that. So lucky!

Once you find a location you'll definitely have a better idea. When I booked my venue I had a walk through with the organizer so we know where we'll be coming out from

We're not planning to have a rehearsal. We do need to decide exactly where we are going to have our ceremony and where I'm going to walk fromt, etc. so we'll need to have a quick pep talk while we're setting up just to plan those things. We're not having a wedding party so there won't be a procession. The unoffical best man and maid of honor will be doing the signing part with us and we will have some friends and family members doing readings, so we'll just make sure everyone knows when that will be happening and we'll be good to go!

It is a farm with a large barn and we have the entire property from friday morning till sunday evening ... there is a total of 15 in our wedding party.. that includes me and my FH and the kiddos ... so a run through is a must for us ... plus our officant likes to have run throughs makes everyone feel more at ease she says so we are gonna do it

Is it a big venue? How many people do you have in your party?

That's what i was originally thinking of doing, but back to my house after.

Although there's issues with his family, I think guiding my girls and hoping for the best is just how its going to have to be lol

There's definitely many pros to having one no doubt. Especially if there isn't anyone to que them to walk in. I'm hoping that all goes smooth lol

We are having a rehearsal as requested by our priest. I think it is a good idea to have one to know what to expect before the big day; but it's ones own preference.

Haha sounds like a good plan! Our nephew also was not very happy when taking pics so we got some great crying pictures haha. I can't wait to show them to him when he's older!

The way it's set up, the guys and girls will have to walk out of the same doors together which is good and i'll be there reminding them im sure lol - We have a Jr BM and JR GM but they're old enough to behave. My niece which is our flower girl is definitely going to need to be bribed like crazy to be good, she's has a temper and I do not want to set it off before she walks down! I think I'll have her mom there with us, and she will be walking down with her brother so hopefully that helps, either that or she'll turn around and clock him one..I have to come up with a realllllyyy good bribe just to get her down the aisle. lol

Haha you would think so until the nerves kick in and then everyone rushes down the aisle! And you'll be in the back and not able to see. If they're walking in couples though, as long as the girls know the drill and what order to go in, they should be able to lead the guys. Just remind the girls to hold their flowers down during the ceremony and not up by their chest!

And if you have any little kids in your wedding party, just make sure to have a contingency plan for if they don't want to walk down. Our almost 3 year old nephew was our ring bearer and right before the ceremony, he had a bit of a meltdown. He was missing his mom who was already sitting in the ceremony so we ended up having her come out and walk in with him and she wasn't expecting that so she was a little nervous! I couldn't see but I believe they all made it down the aisle haha.

My Officiant even told me that he doesn't do them anymore, but that for an additional fee (of course) that he would be willing to do one. I will just have to crack the whip the day of haha...totally jking...I'm sure we will all survive

I completely agree - I don't see it being to difficult of a challenge to walk down the aisle...

As long as they're qued with a good break in between each couple i feel it should run smooth enough.

Our ceremony is outdoors and the way they set it up is like a L shape to talk down the aisle to.

I was thinking of running throug it with the girls and they can just lead the guys lol - I don't see walking at a decent not too fast pace being too much of an issue - fingers crossed this doesn't back fire on me lol

We're not doing one, my venue is out of town for more than half the wedding party and I don't want them to have to brave GTA rush hour or book a day off work. I'm confident we can figure it out... it's walking down an aisle

You definitely need a rehearsal! I wish that we had rehearsed more! None of us had ever been in a wedding before and weren't familiar with the space so we had to see where everything was positioned and how it would work the day of the wedding. (The venue also hadn't set things up properly so we had to change the room around.) You only get one shot and practice makes perfect!

Our officiant was such a pro and ran the rehearsal for us so everyone knew what to do. Even with it though, we made some little mistakes. My groom and his mom didn't actually walk on the aisle runner when walking down the aisle and I almost forgot to get my bouquet back from my MOH before we walked out for the recessional but luckily she caught me halfway back up the aisle. Also, no one put up the screen after we played the slideshow before the ceremony so now the screen is in the background of almost all of our ceremony pictures. Smiley atonished

This has been something I have been debating about for so long. There really isn't a big bridal party, so i'm thinking that they have enough common sense to follow direction on the day of. We will have a coordinator with us on site so I'm thinking they'll just que everyone lol

Our rehersal will be very informal, and not held in the ceremony location. We are having a tiny private ceremony- so with only 5 people to "direct" I am not very worried...but I still want to run-through to make things run soothly.

If our ceremony was much bigger we would for sure do the rehersal in the location and have a coordinator to guide us through it! I have been in a few weddings, and they do help get everyone on the same page. even just a 10 minute run-through is a good idea!
