Throws for guests (outdoor ceremony)

Michelle, on March 7, 2018 at 10:46 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 11

Hi everyone Smiley heart

What have you done or are thinking of doing for the outdoor ceremony to keep your guests warm. I've been thinking of offering some throws, although I don't like to idea of buying 30 throws and then being stuck with them afterwards. Are there are other solution to this or alternatives?

We’re having an August wedding but I debated having a few in case some people get cold. Also we are having a bonfire set up after 10 pm.

I just found a link for blankets at Ikea for $2.99!

This is a really cute signage idea I've seen a few times.

I am one of those people who is always cold so I know I'd appreciate a blanket (even though I would definitely be dressed warmly!)

I've watched on Say Yes To The Dress that many outdoor weddings offer throws to guests and it seems to please them. You can also put portable heaters at select spots as well.

I think it is a really nice thought and agree with the others that if you are going to give your guests throws then maybe get them monogrammed and use them as your favours. Otherwise I would trust people's judgement in dressing appropriately for the season.

I like that idea! I'm sure people will dress appropriately, but I am worried for the handful of people that are really chilly. I don't want them to have an unpleasant experience.

    Thanks for your input!

I would agree with Candace and say that if you want to provide throws for the guests, use that as your favours and they can take them home afterwards.

Otherwise, they should be dressing appropriately for the day. If you choose not to do throws as favours, you could always buy a couple (like 5 to 10) in case someone gets really cold, but keep them with someone from the bridal party to pass out rather than a free for all.

If you want to give them throws you could always make that the wedding favour ( if you are doing favours ) by embroidering them with the date or you and your fiancés initials
but I do agree with Bianca that they should dress accordingly

Hey, I see that you’re having an October wedding? Your guest should dress appropriately (and warmly) if they know it’s an outdoor ceremony. I really like the idea of providing them with throws but like you said, you don’t want to waste money/be stuck with 30 after your wedding.
