We've decided to do our honeymoon close to home considering what's going on with covid and restrictions etc. So we had the wonderful idea of Thousand Islands National Park. It's perfect timing with the park just beginning to open up some of the islands and hiking trails on June 1st. Currently looking into accommodations and wondering if anyone has any tips for us who has been! (Yes, it's close to home but neither of us have ever done it!) Thanks!

I'm sorry I don't have any recommendations as I haven't been before, but it sounds like a great idea! And has gotten me excited about looking into a couple nights away for a minimoon....we hadn't even thought of it for this year

Not sure your accommodation preferences are, but you could always rent a motorhome or travel trailer from 1000 Islands RV Center. They also own Happy Green acres campground, not sure if they’re open but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Actually many places (in my area at least) are still open and accepting bookings. Doesn't hurt especially when you can get free cancellations.

Many accommodations right now are offering rooms on a per situation basis from what a I’ve seen. Most websites are saying to call each location individually for availability.
