Thoughts - party before the wedding

This is not an exactly a wedding related question but I am planning to throw a small surprise birthday party for my fiance and and would like to invite some friends to this small surprise party but they are not invited to our wedding. I am wondering if they will find offensive to get invited to a surprise birthday party but not to our wedding. Is it even reasonable for me to worry about this as these are two completely separate events and should just go ahead and invite these friends despite not being invited to wedding? Your thoughts are appreciated!

    You are in the clear of knowing this is a surprise for your FH and having everyone you want there for him to celebrate his birthday. Nothing to worry about wedding since its not related.

    Definitely OK to invite them to the surprise party and not the wedding!

    If the wedding is mentioned at all, little white lies like Tori mentioned could be used and then steer the conversation back to the birthday!

    IMO it's completely unrelated, and I would invite them to the birthday.

    Worst that can happen is they ask about the wedding and you have to let them know you are on a budget and/or space limit but if there is room that they will be the first you reach out to Smiley smile
