Thinking of having a slideshow

That is just so nice all around! Great idea.....i think it is so nice you are getting married on your parent's anniversary. It seems like a good omen, or things coming full circle....Beautiful!

I really like the advice idea! We are already going to be celebrating my parents marriage since we have picked the date of their 50th anniversary as our date so I was thinking that just celebrating my parents excludes my fiance's side of the family and I thought this was a way to include them as well.

This idea is really unique- I've never heard of it being done Laura!

I think it is a very sweet idea, if you are ok with using part of your special day to celebrate other marriages.

*maybe* ask for a picture, and a few words of advice from each couple- you could caption their advice at the botttom of the photo? just an idea- its OK if you hate it!

This is something we have been thinking of doing as well since our venue has a number of large flat screens around the room that we can use. I was considering asking family and friends to send us their wedding pictures to include in the mix because I think it would be so fun to see and celebrate everyone's marriages. My fiance thinks this idea is a bit weird so we have shelved the idea to be revisted once he has time to process it.

So even if she might be aware that you're doing this, I think you should still try to keep it a suprise as much as possible. I think the slideshow is a great idea since you two have a great history together!! I think everyone in your family also saw your evolution together and would be very glad to remember those moments together too!

As Melissa and Valerie suggested, I would focus more on you two as a couple, but you can also include some funny moments with your families, I'm sure that would be a lot of fun for everyone to watch.

I also think the pictures should last around 5 sec. You could make something that would last 1 or 2 songs.

Did you already start the slideshow? I really liked the pictures you shared of you two together!!

You've got plenty of time! Are you going to try and keep it a surprise or is the cat out the the bag with this thread ?

I also wouldn't make it too long, maybe the length of 1 song? (3ish minutes would be just nice)

I'm personally not a fan of slideshows, but if I was watching one I would prefer to see photos of them as a couple rather than just random ones of them as kids (unless they grew up together)

I think it would be nice to include a few pictures from each year. It would show a really beautiful progression of you growing up together. I think it would be sweet to even being the show with a picture or two of each of you as children before you met- I'm sure it would envoke a lot of emotion from your families.

It would be nice to include pictues of you as a couple with family, but I think based on what you and Nelly have shared about your wedding plans being about your love together, it would suit most to focus on the two of you.

How long do you think you would like the slideshow to be? If you keep each photo on the screen for say, five seconds, and want a 3 minute slideshow you would need 36 pictures.
