The Doctor’s House - what is the real story?

Shara, on November 14, 2019 at 12:49 Posted in Ontario 0 8
Hi! I am a brand new bride-to-be and have fallen in love with The Doctor’s House as a potential venue, but the reviews online are very mixed. Half of the people seem to have had a magical time and the other half are terribly disappointed. I’m reaching out to anyone with experience with this venue, even if you didn’t end up going with it - please help me understand what I would be getting into if I choose it! Thank you all Smiley smile

I have booked with the Doctor's House for September. I really fell in love with the room and I liked that it was a typical banquet hall that everyone else does in my family. There is a funny story behind this - I didn't want to see the Doctor's House I did it because my father asked me to just check it out. I fell in love with it. It was romantic and magical and everything I was looking for. The packages were in our budget and that included the alcohol and cake cutting. You have no idea how many places I looked at that did not include these. Also, I only have nice things to say about the Joy - she has been super nice in answering all my million and one questions.

In the end follow your heart. You will know when you find the right place.

Hi, I've actually booked for Aug 2020 at the doctors house. Angela has been fantastic for us; answering our questions and accommodating multiple visits. I think the location, venue, value for food/alcohol is one of the best options available out there. I was looking for a venue that would give us both ceremony, reception and beautiful grounds for photo's. This covers all the boxes! I also love the fact that I will get married in a chapel instead of a room in a hall or golf course. I also noticed that bar rail for the doctors house is better quality than many other locations and does not require my fiance and I to pay more for an upgraded alcohol package.

    Good luck on your research!

    Hi Shara,

Congrats! My fiancé and I have booked the Doctor's House for September 12 2020. We have had a great experience so far dealing with Joy. They have even let me bring a bunch of ladies by the venue to wander by ourselves and plan for decor. Let me know if you have any questions.

I attended a wedding at the Doctor House and it was just 'ok' nothing spectacular but not horrible. While I was researching venues opted to stay away from the Doctor's House BECAUSE of the mixed reviews.

    Hey Shara!

Congratulations on your engagement! Have you had the chance to check out The Doctor's House's WeddingWire profile? There are more reviews here from couples who previously got married there.

Can you pinpoint exactly what it is that you lie about it, or do you love everything?

Are there any other venues that you are considering?

Happy researching. My fiance and I loved the Doctors Hoisr and booked it for October 2020, but not have to cancel because of an issue that will prevent us from being there next October.

I dealt with Angela and Zoe from sales who were utmost professionals.

If you decide to go with The Doctors House and like Oct 11 2020 as a date, please consider reaching out to me. We would love to transfer our date to someone, as it would let us get our full deposit back.

We opted not to hold our wedding there because of the mixed reviews. I also didn’t like their info packet. They seemed to want us to come in to hear a big talk about the venue which I wasn’t interested in.

We ended up booking a few minutes up the road at Copper Creek.
