Hey all! We are having a family member marry us at our wedding this July. Has anyone went through the process of getting the temporary wedding commissioner license? Looking to chat and get some advice!! Thanks!
We just had my Aunt apply on Sunday for our May 21 wedding date. Seemed pretty simple, she printed out the application from for us to sign, emailed it off and had her certificate in 3 days. She did say there was a lot information to read but it sounds like they provide her with everything she needs to preform the ceremony and send off the documents afterwards.
I believe Alberta only started letting anyone apply for a temporary wedding commissioner status last year so might be hard pressed to find anyone who has gone through the process. My dad did it in Manitoba a few years ago though and it seemed pretty straight forward.
