Step-father and daughter dance - what’s a good song?

In need of some help everyone! I will be dancing with my step father whose been my step dad for just over 20 years. He isn’t really an emotional person and we aren’t as close as some parents are with their kids but he’s been my dad ever since I was a kid. I’d like to dance to a song that isn’t too emotional or slow paced and I’m having some difficulty with this. Any suggestions? He’s a huge fan of 70&80s music also.

    “She’s A Rainbow" by The Rolling Stones

    “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra

    “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong (this is my favorite!)

    My dad and I danced to Forever Young by Rod Stewart. It is a little more fast-paced and isn't overly emotional IMO.

    I think you'll be hard pressed to find a "(step)father/daughter" song that isn't emotional or slow paced.


    Do you have a favourite upbeat song you could do together?


    I'd look for a song that you both like that isn't necessarily labelled as a "father/daughter" song.

    One of my dad's favorites is My Girl. We aren't scheduling a father-daughter dance but I'll make sure it plays so he and I can have a dance if he wants.
