Stage 3 Ontario Wedding Receptions 2021

Rebecca, on May 22, 2021 at 01:09 Posted in Ontario 0 3
Our wedding day is August 15th 2021, I'm pretty confident we would be able to have our wedding ceremony but I'm concerned if the reception will be able to happen. We only have 39 guests including ourselves and photographers and already over half of the 39 have 1 vaccination and at least 10 will be fully vaccinated by the wedding. I have contacted our venue and I'm just waiting to hear back, but all this waiting and stress has been killing me. If anyone knows any details regarding stage 3 2021 receptions please help me out, I just need answers at this point. I need to know what to do because we can't afford to do this twice. Please help😭

We are set to have our 2nd ceremony on July 31. We never guessed we would still be here. Our reception venue just canceled on us so I am scrambling trying to find some place we can at least feed our guests at. You are right. It is about the day, the love and the commitment. Good luck with your 2nd ceremony

My husband and I have our 2nd ceremony and reception on July 25. We got married last year and had hoped that this year would be the big celebration with all of our family and friends. Yet it looks like we will probably be limited to the stage 2- 25 person limit.

We sent out 40 invites but we made a list of 25 and knew before invites went out that 25 could be our limit. We made our peace with it.

I agree with the other poster. Plan as if you will be in stage 2 and do what you need to in order to be at peace with it. If you get more, awesome; if not you will be happy too. Hopefully your venue will have some better outlines of what it could look like. Mine had a guide of what was allowed until the government changed the re-opening plan.

When I am stressed by the what ifs etc it helps me to remember that the day is about the person I am marrying and the commitment we are making and not the details. No matter what the day ends up looking like, it will still be memorable and perfect because I am married to the person I want to build a family with and share my life with.

No one knows what Step 3 is. Not even the government. That's why there's no info about it. They want to be able to make it up as they go along. If things are good, maybe they'll reopen everything. If things are not so good, they'll reopen some things but not all. If things are bad but it's before a major holiday or they're pressured by certain lobby groups, they'll open a bit that makes no sense. That's been the modus operandi of this government.

I'm Sept 5, which means I'm exactly three weeks after your wedding, which theoretically gives me enough time to be a Step further than whatever you'll be in but I'm still planning things as if we'll be in Step 2 because it's the only constant that seem attainable. We literally won't know what numbers are allowed in Step 3 so I feel like trying to aim for an arbitrary number would just lead to inevitable disappointment if things don't go your way.
