Stag and Doe

Hi everyone. Congratulations on your engagement. I hope everyone is having fun planning and organizing what will be the best day of our lives. I’m getting married next June (2021) but have been very organized with most of al things done or at least organized with appointments or ideas.

Currently I have been thinking about our stag and doe. It is a while away(april2021) but am looking to get ideas or do and donts from anyone who has hosted one before. As I am slowly doing research I am noticing a lot of laws in Ontario for games and licensing. Does anyone have any advice or tips for the do’s or don’t”s renting a church basement or hall versus banquets? Games Etc. Any help or ideas is appreciate. Enjoy planning Smiley smile

We did our stag and doe in September at a hall in a community centre.

If you’re serving liquor at the stag and doe then you need to make sure you have people who have their Smart Serve certification running the bar. You’ll also need to apply online with the alcohol and gaming commission of Ontario to get a liquor licence, you’ll need to post that at your event and bring it into the beer and liquor stores when you buy. Keep your LCBO and beer store receipts because you can return any unopened bottles/cases, so only open what you need as you need it.
For games, with the law they are need to be games with some skill, not just games of chance. We had a sports theme and did golf putting, throwing baseballs and footballs through holes, making basketball buckets. I’ve seen people do ring toss and beer bong, seeing who can hammer a nail into a block of wood in the least hits.
