MOHs along with the salon girls put a buck & buck 2 1/2 months beforehand.

Every couple is different based on the timeline.

I’m having my shower today and it’s exactly 6 weeks until my wedding. It’s what was available at restaurants when it was being planned.

A Stag and Doe is a fundraiser for the couples wedding (That the couple does together) and a Wedding Shower is for Women only

Hey Andie Smiley smile It's a particular Manitoba-grown concept, a fundraising party for weddings (or other charitable/community organizations). Generally held in a community centre. For weddings it is traditionally run by the wedding party, where there's liquor, food, music, dancing, raffles and 50/50 draws. You sell tickets (to friends, family and the public) for $10. Ticket sales go to the venue cost first, and the rest of the money (raffle sells, liquor sells, 50/50 draw) goes to the couple. A lot of companies in Manitoba give free social donation prize packages as well to support the social/couple you just submit a social donation letter and a void ticket. It gives couples a way to include friends and relatives in the wedding celebration when you could not invite them, and allows friends and family to support the couple financially on their new life together. Some socials have between 200 to 2500 people depending on the venue size and ticket sales.

If you don’t mind my asking, what is a wedding social? Maybe I need one of those 😜

I think it depends on the bride and groom. I asked for mine to hopefully be a least a month before. Didn't want it the same month as things would be a little too hectic with work and final preparations for the wedding.

I'll be doing my Buck & Doe in the summer before the wedding. Probably June or July, then the shower in August, bachelor/bachelorette at the beginning of September and then the wedding on September 21st! Still nailing it all down, since we have until next year to sort it all out!

I am just starting to get in to these dates... eeeek! Here is my timeline as an example:

Bridal Shower is this Sunday June 3rd

Stag & Doe is Friday July 6th

    Bachelorette is July 20th-22nd

    Wedding is August 18th

We tried to spread them out and each has been planned for several months now.

I would give yourself several months buffer so that there isn't too much stress all at once.

My FH's cousin will be having their wedding shower in June and they are getting married in September? So they will have a 3 month gap - although their social has to happen earlier so that may be why we do things a bit different in MB? Usually the social occurs anywhere from the 1 year mark - the 6 month mark; so the wedding shower would take place after.
