Natasha, on December 6, 2016 at 09:53 Posted in Before the wedding 0 25

Hello Ladies ....

Just wondering how many of you are having a Stag & Doe ( Jack & JIll, Buck& Doe) to celebrate/ raise money for your weddings? My FH and I are and we have now set a date and have a venue and are now planning everything .. just wondering if you are what are some of the ways you are raising / planning to make money , and how are you keeping costs low?

Wha is a Stag & Doe - A Stag N Doe (also called Jack & Jill or Buck and Doe) is a pre-wedding event that combines the traditional bachelor and bachelorette parties. Typically planned and hosted by the couple's wedding party, guests are invited to purchase tickets and enjoy a night of entertainment and fun.

We aren't doing one. I have actually never been to one like you are discribing. Any Jack and Jills I have been to were just a big party in the bush at someone's ranch. Smiley smile This sounds like just as much fun but maybe a bit more work. I will be lucky to survive the wedding planning!

We are doing a Stag and Doe on June 3rd!! Smiley sexy

We are charging 100$ per ticket (just like a stag, or what most people give at a shower). The price of the ticket will include a full bufftet sit down dinner, open bar, and a ticket to the door prize which is a big screen tv.

We are renting 3 casino game tables that come with a dealer. The price of this was pretty reasonable.

We are going to play lots of games like toonie toss, joker poker, and raffles.

Our wedding party is going to be in charge of collecting money, and running the games.

We are having it in the hall part of a church. The rental cost is very small and they provide all the tables, chairs, even have a bar area. We just have to hire the bartender.

Also thinking of getting a friend to DJ.

    Haha fair enough,

OH ALSO! There was this company at the last wedding show I went to that rents out S&D games... and it was REALLY cheap if you saw him at the wedding show. I have a coupon I'm not using now, I forget the exact deal (I'll check when I get home), but it was $150 for like 5 games (of your choice), 2 rolls of tickets (for drinks or raffles or whatever), signs for the games, change aprons, money box, gift cards... that's all I can remember, but it was an AMAZING DEAL!

    aceofgames.ca

I feel like you're in the GTA/Oakville area, so I'd be happy to pass along the coupon if you were interested (he signed it and is apparently very strict about them since it's such a great deal, but he was INCREDBILY nice)

I'm not doing one, but I did notice the other day at Walmart that Avery makes some printable ticket templates. They looked perfect for a stag and doe and then you just use a template from the website! Good way to make some cute, cheap, custom tickets

No I don't think we will! I originally wanted it to be held at Junction nighclub in Oshawa because we then can order platters of food from Rileys and we would get all the money from people buying alcohol but my FH didn't want to do it there. Oh well!

So you arent making any profit off your bar then ? We are using a Barn on private property so we can really do whatever we would like ... just trying to figure out how to do the bar .... I love the dart poker ... I may have to run that by FH...

So for dart poker it is a board with cards on it, you would do $5 for 6 darts. The best 5 card hand at the end of the night wins! Smiley smile

We booked a venue because my FH's uncle who is also a groomsmen wanted to do something nice for us so he paid for the venue and so there is a bar there and its a cash bar! For food we are going to have everyone make a food item or two and we will set it up buffet style - if we need morefood we will order a couple pizza's!

Hey Natasha! We are having a Jack and Jill May 13th! My wedding party is doing the majority of the planning for it. I am actually looking up making the tickets today to see if I can find anything I love. 2/4 bridesmaids just planned a jack and jill and both made a lot of money even just on ticket sales. We are going to have one large prize that everyone who purchases a ticket (even if they can't make it) will be entered into that draw. We are having each person in the wedding party make 2 different raffle prizes for us! I also saw this game called dart poker and I really want to use it but not sure how it will go over! Also we are doing the traditional toonie toss because it seems to be the popular one!

If you get a good crowd, they can generate a lot of money- I would hate to lose money, and waste planning time. Awful!

But y9our FH is super good with the crafty cool stuff- I bet he will put together some pretty good events. I just beg of you- leave the goldfish out of it!!!

We are not- I don't love them, and I'm NOT in the mood to plan another big event! You are freaking brave!

That said- I know a girl who had a pretty awesome Bra-pong I'm sure she would rent out pretty cheap rather than making one yourself.
