Split Personality Venue: Introduction & First Dance Help!

Ss, on August 6, 2019 at 00:16 Posted in Wedding reception 0 7
My fiancé and I are having our ceremony and reception in the same venue: an old reclaimed Germanic chapel from the 1800s. The venue houses up to 100 persons and is absolutely quaint! We couldn’t be happier. BUT we’re having an issue regarding where and when to do wedding party introductions and first dance because of how the building is divided.
Here’s the order of events and location:

- Ceremony: UPSTAIRS
- Cocktails: UPSTAIRS
- Dinner: DOWNSTAIRS
- Dancing: UPSTAIRS

We are thinking that perhaps it would be best to do introductions UPSTAIRS at the end of cocktail hour followed by our first dance. Then we invite everyone to join us DOWNSTAIRS for dinner.

Thoughts?

TIA
xo.

I agree with Valerie. Doing introductions upstairs will make sure your guests aren't rushed to get downstairs. You can use the transition to dinner downstairs to get freshened up as well!

I think your idea would work perfectly! Is there something that doesn’t feel right about it?

I think you have it figured out! I was going to suggest that you keep your guests upstairs for a bit longer and do the intro and first dance then.

Plus, moving downstairs with your guests will give you the opportunity to say 'hi' to a few of them!
