Small Restaurant Reception

Amanda, on December 2, 2020 at 13:57 Posted in Ontario 0 1

Hey fellow brides.

I am looking for some help in finding a reception location. I have changed my vision (due to covid) in that I only want dinner after the ceremony to celebrate, with our immediate family and wedding party. This would be 25-30 guests. I want it to be a casual outdoor patio space. I would be willing to rent out a restaurant's patio space. I have no idea where to start in looking for this type of space. I am getting married in Mississauga. I would be willing to drive anywhere within a 1 hour radius (trying to avoid downtown Toronto - due to covid restrictions). My wedding date is May 15, 2021. Please Help! Thanks Smiley smile

There's a bunch of Pump and Patios in Mississauga; one at Erin Mills, the other at Clarkson. Shore Grill and Grotto has a decent sized patio and might be able to fit 30. The thing with Mississauga is, like most suburbs of the GTA, the majority of restaurants are in ugly strip malls and I feel like the only thing designed to fit a sizable group outside would be a Boston Pizza or Jack Astor.

Toronto has great patios due to our pedestrian friendly streets but they're pretty small. You might be able to take over a restaurant in Shops at Don Mills but not sure if you'll like it as other shoppers will be constantly going past you on the streets.

Granite Brewery in midtown Toronto has an outdoor space in their back that they use for wedding ceremonies. They might be able to jerry rig a setup for you out there.
