Simple Wedding Cake

Hi, can anyone offer any suggestion regarding a baker or affordable bakery? I am looking to have a 2 tier cake for 40 people- we love cake. I love fruit cake (black cake) and chocolate cake. A vanilla butter icing on a naked cake would be ideal but a light icing would also work. Just wanted some vendor options and insights regarding the price range I'll be looking at in Ontario. Thanks in advance.

    Oh have you tried https://daango.com, I have family in Scarborough and they buy their cakes from there.

    It's not black cake but Scarborough has a ton of Chinese bakeries that make sponge cakes with fruit fillings and a whipped cream icing that are affordable. Saint Germain is a well known Chinese chain and they sell a 12" cake shown below for $100 and an 8" for $45. So for roughly $200, you can get a two-tier fruit cake (I'm sure they can make the top less complicated for wedding purposes).

    If you're just looking for a simple cake, you don't need to go to a wedding specific baker. Just ask around the closest places that make birthday cakes in your area.

    We got this 8" strawberry shortcake for $60 but I also know this is far from what a typical wedding cake costs.
