Shoe Game

Jessie, on July 19, 2018 at 10:19 Posted in Wedding reception 0 16

We are doing the shoe game at our wedding and I wasn't sure of all the details.

Do we supply the questions of our choosing and have the DJ ask them or does someone else ask the questions and bring the questions?

What do you think? I could be completely wrong haha

That's smart. I have chosen my maid of honor and my emcee to ask the questions (they are brother and sister and also my cousins) so it will be easy for them since they have known me my entire life.

I hope they come up with some creative questions like you said not the basic boring questions.

Yeah I agree. I like the idea of not knowing so I can't plan my answers!

I wouldn't want to provide them myself, since it's more fun when you don't know what questions to expect. Otherwise you could just talk about your answers before.

My brother will be asking the questions, so I provided him with a link to a long list of question ideas that seemed appropriate to me (I hate the questions like "who will do x chore?").

I'd suggest asking one or more people who know you to prepare the questions, as they will be able to choose questions that are relevant to your relationship.

We’re letting our MC do the questions. I was in charge of them for my moms wedding I think it’s better when you don’t know what the questions will be then you just give your quick honest answers.

That's nice you were able to tie your brother into the wedding. Sound like a good idea. I will probably do the same with the bridal party.

We are doing the shoe game before and the bouquet toss won't be til around 10pm. We are also skipping the garter toss.

Yeah I think that's a good order. I was asking for FIL's and they said to have it after dinner/ speeches and just before the dance floor opens up so people are still seated!

Yeah I know but the guests will be there so they will be getting a laugh and enjoying it too. I'll see if they can gather questions and give it to my maid of honor so it's a surpise- i like that idea!

I have contemplated doing this too during the reception in place of garter and bouquet toss. We are not super traditional and do not want to include these in our reception.

If we do this game, our MC (My brother) will be doing the asking. But i may put it out to my immediate family and bridal party to put together some questions

Now that's a good question! lol hmmm ok so first look photos, then ceremony, first dance, supper.... then maybe cutting the cake and dessert and while they eat it we can do those kind of games. That sounds about right (as of now).

The game is not for guests. It's for the bride and groom. I'm sure you have seen it.
So it's more fun if your friends (his and yours) pick the questions, so you and your hubby dont know what's coming! Otherwise it can lose some of its humor if you're not caught off guard or laughing Smiley laugh

Oh that's a good idea. It might make it more interactive if the bridal party takes turns instead of the DJ asking all the questions. I think both ways are nice! I might see if the girls would want to come up with some questions. Great idea Smiley smile

Yeah that's what I was wondering about so I'll probably go with what Tori was saying.

I'm having one of the bridal party members, or maybe all my girls, make up the questions and ask them.
At my cousins wedding, I looked up all the game stuff, and split up the talking among the bridesmaids. It worked great.

Yeah that's true. I will probably do the same! We will have the proper sound/ mic set up. I think it will be a fun game to get people laughing! What time during the night do you plan on doing it?

I have seen some versions of the shoe game card on the internet. It's something to look into and beleive the couple creates it to see how many people know you two well besides the parents.

Personally I will probably come up with my own and then maybe have that be a "game" or activity at my wedding shower for people to come up with questions. As for who asks the questions - I will probably just have the DJ ask them but it really won't matter who asks as long as they are loud enough or have a microphone.
