Save The Date wording

Noxell, on November 16, 2019 at 16:15 Posted in Before the wedding 0 9
Curios! Does anyone have “correct” save the date wording for if people can’t come and would still like to send a gift/money? Without it coming across as rude?
Thanks, in advance!

I personally wouldnt even write it. the people who get it and wont come may send a gift anyways. i feel like if you write it on there youre asking everyone for a gift

I wouldn't worry about wording for people who know they cannot attend. The save the date is just for giving your guests a heads-up of wedding day/location (good for out-of-towners or destination weddings).

I also wouldn't have wording on invites, it can come across as gift/money grabbing IMO. Most people know if they can't come, they can send a gift/money.

I would say that like the others said, it's not needed for save the dates - BUT!!! When it comes to sending out the invitations or even these save the dates, don't worry about that wording because by sending something in the mail it will/should include your mailing return address that they can chose to use if they can't make it and would still want to send a card.

Plus, if they really want to send something then in my experience they will reach out and ask for your mailing address so they can do so.

I have a couple family members who have already said they won't be able to attend. I'm not sending them a save the date but I will send them an invite so they can officially decline with an RSVP.

Save the dates are just for guests to know when the wedding is and start planning time off if they need to travel or a babysitter for kids.

We simply just put our date and “let’s do this” for our save the dates! Simpler the better!
Once you send out the invites people who aren’t coming will decide if they want to send you a gift or not. I wouldn’t list it anywhere on the invite

The save the date is just as it says, to allow guests to “save” the date and try to attend the wedding.

Our save the date just had our names, the date and it said “a formal invitation to follow”.
If guests can’t come but want to send a gift, they will do so when they get an invitation, and typically send it back with the RSVP.
Although, don’t expect this. Unless I’m super close to someone, I’m not sending a gift if I can’t attend a wedding.

I didn't think people responded to save the dates, so I don't think there is anything like that to put on them.

I also wouldn't expect gifts from people who aren't attending. Anyone who can't come but wants to give a gift will find a way to send it to you.
