Should I books send save the dates with RSVP before giving location? Saving the headache...

    I would just send a STD with the date and the rough location. No RSVP at all - although if you mention the day or rough location you may get some RSVP's even though you don't ask for them. Otherwise sending a STD without the location will just cause you to possible get yes' replies that turn to no's and a lot of people not replying at all.

    I dont think anyone would RSVP to a save the date. I believe they are just for people to not book anything on that date. You'll still need to send the formal invite later.

    We just had our names and the date - city was too confusing because the ceremony and reception are in different cities

    If you want the save-the-date to have just the date, go for it! We had date and city just because we already had our venue booked but really all people need to know that early on is the date

    Send the dates are sent way early like 9 months ahead of the wedding. They are just a heads up for the date. No rsvp or additional info needed

    Ours just had our date and city on it along with our website that has all the info!

    Usually save the dates are just a heads up and people don't RSVP to them.


    Ours have the date and the city but not the venue.
