Rsvp on canadian site - doesn't include meal selection

Shai, on April 16, 2017 at 14:13 Posted in WeddingWire 0 9

Anyone else find it funny that the RSVP on the Canadian site doesn't allow you to ask for meal selection or +1?

I'm glad you found my feedback so helpful that its 6 months later and yet nothing has changed. I'm also sorry to see that my past comments on the subject were removed. That said, your suggested solution is not viable and provides for a poor customer experience for my wedding guests.

Having a “survey” does not provide us with the ability to link a meal choise of a specific guest to that guest. So I would kindly ask for some accountability as to why the U.S. site has this feature and your site does not, when it’s clear that many of us have asked for this. Thank you!

Yah it's so sad as this site has sooo much potential! It seems to me they just don't care. They say one thing but their actions say something else.

The administrators definitely don't provide you with help or solution, but they do message you about surveys to see which shoes you should wear! Wedding wire is very much a site where you're on your own to figure it out.

Zoe, forgive me but your follow-up was not helpful! I'm honestly very disappointed with the service level received from this site and its support.

The U.S. version has all the features, where us Canadian's are left with a site that seems unfinished at best!

And before someone tells me that "oh but you don't have to pay for it, it's free"... let me say this... I have worked in the Marketing industry for years and know enough to understand, that the way us users "PAY" for this site and service... is by the FREE information we provide WeddingWire.ca. You'r site gets vendor info, budget info, attendance info, Venue info and tons of other info, otherwise requiring you to spend $$$$ to be able to purchase or accumulate.

Now as for your message regarding how to manage the meal option, forgive me, but that's no management solution! Very much the opposit, it actually creates a lot more work!

A solution would be to just provide us with the SAME feature set that your U.S. site has! Allowing people who RSVP to provide in one step both their RSVP, meal selection and if they have a +1.

What you have for us here and the so called work around... is really a patched up solution which in reality, as I stated, creates more work!

I work as a Customer Experience Analyst, and this site frustrates me beyond belief as to the lack of basic understanding of how we manage a wedding!

    1. U.S. site has all the features, and even the Canadian site advertises features which are NOT available in Canada. For some reason we are 2nd class users compared to the U.S. version. 2. Critical info which any reasonable person would assume can sync between a bride and groom (when the account is linked), does not sync! 3. The support you get is lacking, people just provide you with Answers that are so templated and so lacking in understanding, that it frustrates you even more. There is also a lot of good on this site and that’s the only reason I stuck by it. That said, I’m not a promoter, if anything, I’m a passive / detractor due to the… simply put, BAD customer experience. FYI, I’ve messaged your support 6 days ago, and I have yet to hear a reply, the last time it took them 2 weeks, again, unreasonably long and not a great experience.

    In short… DISAPPOINTING!

PS: your Twitter account hasn't seen activity since 13 Dec 2016, and yet your other channels have put out promo / user engagement content. Maybe it's time to engage your users and find out how they feel about the lack of features in comparison to the U.S. site?

We worked around that by creating a SurveyMonkey survey for the dinner and adding the link to the survey on the RSVP section asking people to go fill that out after RSVPing.

For the Plus Ones, we just created another guest, named them something like "JaneDoe PlusOne", then linked them to the guest named "Jane Doe".
