rsvp cards & envelopes or postcards - yay or nay?

Msss, on February 21, 2020 at 00:26 Posted in Before the wedding 0 8

I've noticed both options while browsing and editing my own version. Any thoughts? Risk of damage or privacy concern? Creative and totally fine?

If ur doing RSVP cards you have to do envelopes and return postage and ur address on it. or else people will misplace them or throw them somewhere and say ill mail it out later and wont...

A big thanks to everyone for their contributions to this convo! Smiley smile

I agree with you. I weighed the pros and cons, went a bit nutty, and decided to go with a sayi.do wedding website with an rsvp page. I really hope it is simple to use for everyone and clear. There are only two couples I can think of that may require paper rsvps.

Yay if you want to go postage wise and separate from the invitation, its definitely going to need an envelope.

Nay, Electronic reply is easier if you have families using computers, cell phones or any devices to reply back to your email address. Elders that may require a card and envelope will make it better to reply unelectronically.

I would do an envelope for sure! The last thing you would want is it getting wrecked and be unreadable.

Personally I wouldn't want to risk the rsvp cards getting water damage and then not being able to make out what the rsvp says.

I will say that for my Thank You cards after the wedding we sent those out as postcards though!

I would do an envelope for an RSVP card. If the card gets wet from snow or rain it's protected.

Also people can have horrible handwriting and you can pre-address the envelopes so that you know the poor mail carrier won't suffer when they try to decipher the address. And speaking of bad handwriting, I've her you should number RSVP cards so that you can tell who it belongs to if you can't read it.

My invitations are an all in one style from minted and the rsvp detaches and sends like a postcard.

I'm expecting most of my guests to rsvp online but those who send back a physical copy have the option to put the card in an envelope themselves if they don't feel it's safe enough.

I would always do envelopes for RSVP cards. A post card could get damaged, lost, something spilled on it, etc. In envelopes at least there’s a little bit more of a chance that they are safe.
