Rosemary?

Ilish, on July 15, 2018 at 15:09 Posted in DIY 0 7
Thinking about using rosemary in a lot of aspects for our wedding (bountonnieres, place settings). Haven’t had much luck on finding artificial ... a lot of the stuff is plastic and not passable as real rosemary. Anyone use rosemary before and have some tips?

This looks stunning! It'll give a nice smell too Smiley smile

I grow my own rosemary, it's easy to care for and grows like a weed! I think that would be your best bet for getting lots of it!!

I Googled it... haha... and it says Rosemary is quite easy to grow/care for... Megs has a good point though, maybe next Spring, purchase a few plants already on the go, and then let them get as big as possible before the wedding to prune your sprigs.

Love this idea btw, very fresh feel, and unique!

Rosemary is very hardy and will hold up fine, don’t use fake, especially if you like the smell of it

The rosemary idea is great and expensive by the sound of how much ever you'll need for the day.

Centerpeices can cut down the amount and give that sprig look and colour.

Would it be possible to grow your own? I’m not really much of a gardener so idk when to plant it or how much care it takes but maybe worth it?

We are going to be using rosemary at each place setting like the photo above. fresh rosemary has a wonderful scent to it. Some restaurants have even burned it in their kitchens to initiate the sensory component to the dining experience. having it placed like that at the table in front of your guests could have the same effect.

rosemary is a very strong herb and can last outside of refrigeration for a long time, so my suggestion would be to use real rosemary. my FH and i have purchased rosemary plants (you can buy large ones in many grocery stores or garden nurseries. they continue to grow over the summer and we will just prune them down to use for our wedding day. another option is to go to local fruit/veg markets and ask for a deal of purchasing in bulk before the wedding. usually they are able to harvest large quantities of it and they all are nicely manicured and with a little precision each stock can even be split in two to get more out of it.
