Rose Ceremony

So FH and I are very close to our moms (mine is technically my grandma, but she has been my mother figure my entire life) and they do an incredible amount for us that we are always so grateful for and we've always wanted to show them how appreciative we truly are but nothing seems to ever really show or express it properly. So we were thinking of doing a rose ceremony portion for our wedding. For those that don't know what this is, basically after FH and I have said our vows and exchanged rings, our officiant will let everyone know that we have a few words to say and he'll ask our moms to come up to the front (this will be a surprise for them) where we will give a little speech and offer them the roses.

Has anyone else done this for their mom or someone special?

We were also thinking of instead of real roses, which will die soon after, that we'd get these metal forged roses off of etsy instead so they last forever. What do you guys think?

    We're not doing this, but it's something our officiant suggested that he said quite a few people do and it's really an emotional and memorable part of the ceremony. I think it's really sweet

    This idea is so meaningful and thoughtful for what your doing for your mothers. The amount of love and support they give in our lifetime is unconditional. The colour of the rose is beautiful and they would love it after the speech you give them each.
