I totally understand- I just notice that a lot of brides have a hard time finding venues that allow outside catering, or don't have a prefered list.

I think the tricky part is that a lot of the venues that suit your vision also provide the food (from the sound of it).

I think community centers might have the facilities you need, maybe you could find one in a nice location with a "blank slate" you can decorate to suit your vision?
