Reception seating

Amanda, on August 13, 2018 at 16:16 Posted in Wedding reception 0 4
Hello ladies,
I could really use some help. I am struggling with the seating chart for dinner. I have more family coming than my FH and my side has more children as well. My question is, how would you arrange the seating? We are having rectangle tables that seat 8 per table. My cousins kids all get along but I am wondering if I should seat families together, like adult siblings with adult siblings just so that the kids can sit together or should I mix it up a little. Example of what I was thinking is my cousin has a boy and girl and was thinking of putting my FH cousin with them as the kids are similar in age.
I would love some suggestions.

I would keep adult siblings together, that way they know the people at their table. People can mingle after dinner if they want!

Keep families together if needed if not doing a kids table. Mixing immediate family members is always good for mingling and kept some cousins together based on kids with them since they are young.

Look at the placing of the tables and if a kids table is feasible.

I’ve kept family with family to make sure for the most part everyone is at a table with people they know

I would keep adult siblings with each other. The kids can play and interact after dinner. I think it's more important for the adults to be comfortable.
