Reception Help

Sabrina, on July 15, 2019 at 17:10 Posted in Wedding reception 0 3
We are getting married in October and are having a small reception afterwards consisting of a nice sit down meal for us and our 60 guests max. We are very non-traditional and do not know how we should try to plan the reception since we will not be having a dinner or alcohol. We aren't opposed to speeches from the BM or MoH but they are not our top choice.

Anyone have some ideas as to how we could outline the reception to keep it non-traditional but not a 'hi, we are married, amen, eat and leave' kind of deal? Thanks!

Hmmmmm..... no dancing... no alcohol is fine.... no games?

I don't know if you would consider it a game - but what about having different stations for guests? You could have one where they give advice, one for recipes, etc.?

You sure you don't wanna do the shoe game? lol That's probably the one thing I'm excited to play at my wedding Smiley laugh

Maybe have a photo booth? Entertainment like a magician?

Thanks for the response Tori. We are having a dinner and cake cutting/cupcakes with everyone but none of the other bells and whistles that are usually lumped in with receptions (dance, alcohol, games..) We are at a loss with what all to do during the reception other than food and how to plan it.

With no food or alcohol I would maybe call it more of an after party or something but to make sure they know that food and booze aren't included maybe just push the party until 7 or 8pm?

Here are a couple invitations I would recommend:
