Reception Hall Decor Budget

Jamie, on March 28, 2020 at 12:11 Posted in Wedding reception 0 3
We are getting married June 19/21

I didnt think I was going to want a whole lot of reception decor but now I'm thinking I would like chair covers, maybe sashes, an overlay on each table and the head table with some draped fabric...but I'm afraid to know what this might cost. Does anyone have a good estimate for me to enter into my budget?

A very common price I see for draping and head table in the GTA is $1500. Pretty much most shows I've gone to have multiple decorators quoting around that price. Covers a ceiling to floor backdrop of some kind, head table decor, cake table, and guest sign in table.

Chair covers and sashes depend on colour and material.

Here's the link to the video where she breaks down the cost of each guest using things like chair rentals and linens.

You might need to do some research on the cost of renting vs buying. Some things make sense to rent, others you can get cheap online or second hand.

You can buy second hand chair covers for about $0.50-1.50 each which tends to be cheaper than renting plus you can resell them after. To save on sashes you could do every other chair instead of all of them, I've seen them on Amazon but the prices vary a lot. Anything to to with tables and chairs varies based on how many people you have. Jamie Wolfer on YouTube has a great breakdown of wedding costs by guest that explains it quite well.
For draping I would consider how fancy you want. If it's something simple that hangs like a curtain you can probably do it yourself but if you're looking at a lot of swooping and layers I would look into a decor rental company about installing it for you.
