Real vs fake flowers?

Georgie, on October 26, 2016 at 17:01 Posted in Wedding reception 0 19
Hey ladies
Flowers are such a big expense! I plan to have a real bouquet as well as real flowers for the bridesmaids and groomsmen, however am considering fake silk flowers for the reception tables.
Anyone have recommendations on brands or websites that sell affordable but nice fake flowers?
My style ideas are pictured. Love the eucaltypus with roses in whites, greens, and soft accenting pastels.

Hi Georgie, I'm pretty much having silk flowers due cost and I feel that since real flowers don't last long, it would be a shame to waste money for this area as it can go to other expenses. I think silk flowers are beautiful and great just like the real one. Also it great to have silk flowers in case some guest may have allergies. Smiley smile

Thank you ! They ended up a little narrower than I thought, so we might go with some smaller vases. Will look at Michaels again tomorrow to see what they have Smiley smile

Hehe I wouldn't stress! I think I am just ultra-keen and excited, and the flowers had been on my mind for a while so I wanted to get them done when I had a bit of free time Smiley smile

I purchased my wedding party bouqets and boutineeres today. They're fake and will be assembled by my future mother in law. We spent a grand total of $80. That only includes about half my bouquet and we didnt buy any decor flowers but I'm very pleased!

Hi Georgie Smiley heart I'm so happy you started this discussion! You're inspiration images are absolutely gorgeous!! Smiley love I love the style you are going for. In what kind of venue will you celebrate your wedding?

You should have a look at the vendors in our directory, some of them also make amazing "fake" flower arrangements:

Those are beautiful inspiration pictures! I usually just get my fake flowers from Michaels or craft stores, but I did a quick search and found this site https://www.afloral.com/pages/silk-wedding-flowers

They look like they have some beautiful flowers Smiley love and for very reasonable prices (and pretty cheap shipping!)

What are you thinking of doing for your centerpieces? I can't wait to see the pictures!
