Readings

Courtney, on April 1, 2018 at 18:21 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 8

Is anyone having readings for their weddings? My FSIL has agreed to do a reading for us, but wasnt sure what to read. I'm aiming to select three that I like and then let her make the final decision.

What are you guys doing?

We had to pick ours from our the boom they gave us. We could have chosen different ones that were related but we just went with those as they seemed fitting.

Our ceremony has a small poem and one reading but we are just having the officiant do it.

We are getting married in a Church so our readings are given to us by the Priest. If you don’t know of any readings, maybe she could say a prayer/poem before you eat! I’ve seen this done several times.

You get what you pay for I suppose eh?!!! Try to google ceremony readings. I'm sure someone has posted versions they've used. Did you try google?

    We're doing a non-religious ceremony.

We also are not able to ask our officiant for readings. If we do, then we'll have to pay more money as its part of a different ceremony package versus the one we're on. It's annoying.

I agree with Lisa. Check with your officiant to see if they have some readings they can recommend, before branching out on your own. We were given a list of selections to read from which was very helpful!

Are you getting married in a church or with an officiant? Either or they should be able to provide you with a list of readings. Ours did.
