Raffle in place of stag and doe

Andrea, on December 15, 2018 at 12:09 Posted in Before the wedding 0 2

We were curious what other couples have done instead of a stag and doe. It would be difficult for us to plan a stag and doe because our wedding party lives all over southern Ontario. One of our bridesmaids suggested doing a raffle instead!

Prizes - would you consider a prize that you could be transferred to someone living further away (i.e. wine of the month club) and/or something someone could pick up (i.e. booze cooler)?

How much time before the wedding should we have a raffle and when should the winner(s) be announced?

Is there a way to sell the tickets online?

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated Smiley smile

One girl I went to high school with added everyone into a private Facebook group and just sold tickets either online and with etransfer or in person if they were close.
They had I think $1000 LCBO gift card and then a second prize of a TV and did a live Facebook video for everyone when they did the draw.
I would do it a few months in advance the same you would do for a stag and doe. You could sell the tickets for a month and then do the draw.

This is a neat idea! We are also foregoing the Stag and Doe since everyone is scattered all over Ontario and it would be hard/stressful to organize.

I would definitely do the two options: something transferable and something to be picked up, could even be picked up at the wedding.

I think anytime between 6-3 months to announce the raffle and draw winners would be good! Maybe advertise on your wedding website/create a facebook page and announce on your winners there too! I don't know how to sell tickets online, but you might be able to use your scattered wedding party and/or parents to help sell them.
