Puerto Vallarta in October?

Chere-Lee, on August 6, 2019 at 14:02 Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

My FH and I are having difficulty finding something for our honeymoon. We've changed our minds 3 times and we still have over a year to consider it.

I understand that Puerto Vallarta in October - internet says it's their rainy season, but has anyone actually gone there at the beginning of October? I'd like to hear about people's experiences!

If not Puerto Vallarta - where? All inclusive is preferred.

Thank you in advance!

Puerto Vallarta actually does not have a hurricane season - according to the information that I have read. I've read it is because of its location in the middle of the Banderas Bay that is also surrounded on all sides by mountains, sometimes hurricanes pass through the area and the city is a bit affected by them, but mostly on the sidelines. That is why we chose there because we may get some rain, but no hurricanes!

Hurricane season don’t do it! Also food is usually bad there as rations are poor during the rainy/hurricane season

I haven't been in October, but I absolutely love Puerto Vallarta! It's so lovely and the people are fantastic! I went to old downtown in December and loved every second of it.

I second this. Love Cuba for the beaches and the people. The food is hit and miss, but we honestly have never gone hungry LOL

We haven't been away in October, but usually go away the beginning of November and find the weather to be perfect! The closer to the end of hurricane season you are normally pretty safe. I would say push to the end of October if you can!

I am personally a fan of Cuba, but I know not many people are. Always complaints of the food... but you cannot beat the people or the beaches.

Thank you Amanda! We had originally chosen the Dominican - but then realized we would be in the middle of hurricane season - so we changed our minds.

Hopefully we will visit the Dominican at a future date! Neither of us have gone and we would love to as we have heard great things!

Honestly you never know. I went to Dominican in November last year and it was perfect. It's really a toss up when you are going to those places during hurricane season... As long as you're maybe closer to the start or the end of it not right smack in the middle - you might be ok.
